Meet us:
Big Voice – Aim High has been set up in association with the Helen O’Grady Drama Academy and is run by two of its principals Rachel Powell and Tracy Shirley.
Rachel has a BA Honours Degree in Drama from Liverpool, John Moores University. She has worked in primary and secondary schools across Liverpool and the North West for the past six years, delivering and co-ordinating events and workshops to help enhance curriculum.
Rachel previously worked for the Capital of Culture 2008 team for two years, working on the young people and schools programme. Rachel is the Principal of Helen O’Grady Drama Academy, Sefton. She has lived in Liverpool for 13 years and previously trained in dance for 16 years in London.
Tracy has a Performing Arts and Media Studies HND from Salford University and a BA Hons Drama and American Studies degree from Hope University. She is the Principal of Helen O’Grady Drama Academy Liverpool and in the past worked as a drama lecturer at Liverpool Community College. She has attended dance and drama classes from a young age and has dance and drama qualifications in ISTD, RAD, Trinity Guildhall and LAMDA.
She participated in speech and drama festivals as a child and attended the Everyman and Playhouse Youth Theatre. Tracy became the Principal of Helen O’Grady Liverpool in September 1998 and won the Helen O’Grady National Directors Award in 2013. Tracy is a drama workshop leader for the Teacher Training Conferences, and organises and runs summer school projects for children of ages 5-17 years. She runs a Young Adult Acting drama group.
